Laudato Si' Movement

The Issue

Our ecosystem is housed in our environment, which it helps us to develop and thrive. We are placing the lives of animals, plants, and crops, as well as our own at risk if we do not protect and care for our environment. The encyclical Laudato Si ("Praise be to you") by Pope Francis is a worldwide wake-up call to help humanity recognize the harm that man is making on the environment. According to the encyclical, the source of the dilemma is our temptation to elevate humans above the rest of the creation.

We are aware of how we should properly segregate our trash but we refuse to do it. This campaign will help everyone in the long run as we learn to properly segregate and help mother nature as well. This will also help us in maintaining the cleanliness of the barangay. Change must begin with ourselves and our community. It is not climate change that is the real enemy of the world, but us, the people who live here. We are the reason why climate change and global warming are getting worse because of our misuse of resources.

The Pope said in a video message launching the Laudato Si' Action Platform that it is "a seven-year journey that will see our communities committed in various ways to becoming totally sustainable, in the spirit of integral ecology." "We need a new ecological approach that can transform our way of dwelling in the world, our lifestyles, our relationship with the resources of the earth, and, in general, our way of looking at humanity and living life," Pope Francis said. It is intended for individuals, particularly communities, who want to increase their commitment to bringing the encyclical "Laudato Si'" to life by promising a series of actions over a seven-year period.
