Textual communication lacks various nuances represented within verbal language. Among these, there is no existing, commonly accepted representation of sarcasm in web fonts. Misinterpreted sarcasm can lead to serious blunders in our society. To resolve this, the President of the United States should begin a campaign to standardize fonts to include reverse italics, a proposed method of representing sarcasm in text. With this simple solution, many awkward and troublesome miscommunications on the phone and internet can be avoided.
