This is a petition in regards to my ex-brother-in-law and friend Hala F Moataane. 
I have known Hala for over 30 years on a close and personal level as he was married to my sister and is the father of my niece and nephew. He is still very much a part of our lives and is considered family although the marriage with my sister ended years ago.
It saddens me to hear that he has been placed in custody by immigration as Hala is one of the most upstanding citizens I know. He has always been a hard working man who has always paid taxes, paid every dime of child support on his three children and currently supporting two of those children as they attend college to further their careers and to my knowledge has not been in any trouble other than to what has been recently brought to my attention about an incident back in the year of 1986.
All of this is very disturbing to me. There are not only hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in our country that live off of our state and government benefits rather than become an american citizen and provide for themselves, but, there are the same amount of born and raised Americans that abuse our benefits, fail to pay child support, current and back taxes that are owed let alone repeat offenders!
You are removing a man not only from this country but from his family that is the most least deserving of this.
