Miller-Motte Technical College Scam

The Issue

The importance of a college education is also accentuated because of the opportunity to gain valuable resources during your tenure. The more connections which are collected during your college career, the more options you will have when you begin your job search. Once you have ended your job search and have started your career, however, the importance of a college education has not been exhausted. Having a college degree often provides for greater promotion opportunity. So, why should you go to college? The reasoning does not begin and end with the job aspect. A good education is beneficial from many different viewpoints, and while the importance of a college education is quite evident for many high school students, what is often not as clear is how they will pay for that education. Going to school was never a big deal to me once I graduated from high schoo. Later on in life I decided it was time for a change. I stopped by Miller-Motte Technical College in Conway SC to see what type of classes was being offered. I started asking questions about computer classes and was told by a young lady named Jill that they'll have those classes in a couple of months. She proceeded to tell me about the rest of the courses that was being offered. Needless to say I enrolled in the Medical Assistant program. Of course I was told all sorts of things that was puzzling to me at the time. It was all to get me enrolled at the time. We were also told that we would take a state exam once we finished the program. I have graduated with my BS in Allied health management and have yet to take the state exam for Medical Assistant. My student loans are $68,000 and there's no way I could pay all of that. Not to mention we were PROMISED that they will help us find a job once we finished school. After a couple of months of you completing school, the job finding is up to yourself. I learned to never depend on anyone for your SUCCESS. While attending that school, some of the instructors did not teach you anything. If I wanted to teach myself, that's pretty much what online class is for. I reported an instructor and that was back in 2011 and she's still there. The point I'm trying to make is that this school is misleading people and making it hard to even tranferr your credits to another school. Loans are extremely high and there's a lot og things that's not being told. I am a victim of being sucked in and mislead and so has my classmate. I'm asking that these loans be forgiving and removed. Somee of my classmate even dropped out because of the lies that being told. Below are the statements of some ANGRY students that also attended Miller-Motte Tech in different states. I withdrew my schooling with Miller Motte today they tried to hide awarded funding in my name of 32,000.00 and the school only costed 15,550.00 they are a scam I do believe. I believe they are ripping people off and the fed. gov isnt even aware of what they are doing. my beliefe because they have lied to me about my loans and free money I do not know where all they got funding at in my name. I would like to get with all the students who have been deceived by this school and contact the right investigators. Hopefully they will be busted I am waiting to see what happens in 30days and I will go to any length to get them investigated. I attend the MMTC in Conway, SC and we are being screwed in more ways than one. First, we have to pay $1,000 and something out of pocket for classes we don't need. Which means we will graduate with 260 hours more than what we need, and we must attend we can't quit once we have our hours. In addition, there was a class we was suppose to take when we first started school in last January, but they told us we didn't need it. So when we asked if we could get our money back for that class they wait and tell us 2 semesters before that we need the class and can't graduate without it. Some of us are unable to take the class because we live an hour or more away or because we have jobs and families. Also, As far as our refund checks they hold it for so long or they send them back without notifying us and when you go to financial aid everyone is telling a different story or doesn't know what is going on. In addition, some students accounts are being charged double in tuition. Please, we need your help!!!!!!!!!!
