Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland was kicked out of the military for standing up for the rights of a young 12 year old boy who was raped by an Afghan police officer. The officer raped the boy and then beat the mother of the boy when she confronted him. Charles Martland defended the boy and his mother by confronting the officer. Martland did shove the officer but this should not have been grounds for being discharged after a lengthy and decorated career in the Green Berets. If this had been your son or your daughter I'm sure you would have done the same thing. Rapists should not get away with their actions. The whole problem with this situation is that the Afghan authorities probably would have done nothing to this officer so Martland along with fellow Green Beret Daniel Quinn felt they had no choice but to confront this guy so he did not commit this despicable act again. Martland is an American hero and for this one incident to ruin his career would be a shame. I am asking President Obama and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to reinstate Charles Martland.
