The Issue

YOU WOULDN'T TOLERATE A WHITE SUPREMACIST RALLY AT TOWN HALL.

SO WHY TOLERATE AN ANTISEMITIC, PRO-JIHAD RALLY?!

Antisemitism is on the rise across America. College encampments, schools hosting convicted terrorists, elected officials openly courting terrorists and supporters of terrorism, it is impossible to ignore.

The Holocaust did not start with concentration camps and gas chambers. It started with hateful rhetoric and defamation and authorities doing nothing, if they weren't actively encouraging it.

All across the town of West Hartford, there are lawn signs stating: Hate has no home here. There's a pride flag on the pavement in the center of Blue Back Square!

How can hate have no home in West Hartford, if the Palestinian movement, a movement based on lies and hatred, is allowed to spew its views publicly at Town Hall?

Taking into account the controversy and the issue of free speech, the rhetoric of the Palestinian movement is hate speech and should not be permitted so public a platform as Town Hall.

We, the undersigned, therefore ask Mayor Shari Cantor, the West Hartford Town Council, and the West Hartford Police Department to live up to the anti-hate, antiracist principles they espouse and to bar the CT Palestinian Solidarity Coalition from holding its planned Nakba Day event at Town Hall scheduled for May 16, 2026.

West Hartford has a large Jewish population and such displays of hatred and defamation cause visible distress to the surrounding community.

The Palestinian movement is a threat to the security and well-being of the community and the nation as a whole. It's hate, like any hate, has no home here.
