As most students in this school know,

Phones aren't allowed. I would want to make a HUGE change by allowing phones. This could be from Grade 5-6 reasons allowing phones in school could help greatly --

1.  cell phones provide a vital channel for communication between parent and child.

especially in case of emergency. Such as, (vomiting, dress getting VERY dirty, fainting, student getting severly sick etc) 

2. provide easy access to information. 

If smartphones are allowed in school, students will have easy access to more information and therefore will be more participative during class discussion. Being able to search up facts in just a few clicks is one of the biggest advantages of using technology.

3. Phones in school increase a sense of safety.

Bringing cellphones in school increases the sense of safety of both students and parents. This is because there are some instances where they need to contact each other due to emergencies. Contacting parents mediated by school sometimes takes time so one of the best options is if the student can contact them directly. This is especially useful during medical emergencies. There are also times where the parents need to get ahold of their child for some important reason or just to check up on them on why they are running late.

theres are major reasons but there are more reasons to why they should be allowed. And these phones can be confiscated due to loads of reasons aswell. These phones can be limited aswell.
