Bring the Digimon World PS1 trilogy to PSN

The Issue

The Digimon World series can be seen as a bit of on oddball compared to most other game franchises. World 1-3 all had different game-play elements that made them unique from one another and this could be a potential problem for the casual and uninformed gamer. This certain "uniqueness", among many other oddities with the franchise, is possibly why the games are seen more as "cult classics" than anything else. However, all 3 games are fantastic games in their own way and any fan of the Digimon franchise that grew up with them probably has fond memories of at least one of these games.

These games hold a lot of sentimental value to myself and I know I can't be the only one. Many people, like myself, grew up with these games and it would be a real treat to be able to play them again more conveniently on a modern console. For those that haven't played them before, it's a new opportunity to be able to play two great RPGs and a fantastic Digital-Pet style game.

Unfortunately, the Digimon franchise is one that hasn't gotten a whole lot of love for English speakers in recent years. Many games in the franchise have went unreleased and the series was thought to have faded into obscurity in the US/Europe because of this. This however seems to be changing now with the recent release of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth for the Playstation 4 & Vita game systems in February 2016. Many fans of the franchise rose their voice and gave their signatures in the petition asking Bandai Namco to bring the game, and hopefully many more, to the west and finally their wish was granted. At the time of writing this, Cyber Sleuth is still a fairly new game with only a few weeks of release behind its belt. Because of this, it is unknown how well the game is actually selling, but the die hard fan support is definitely there. Because of Bandai Namco's willingness to take a chance on the franchise and the recent addition to the English gamer's library, now seems like the best chance there is to get the World trilogy ported to the PSN.

What this petition asks of Bandai Namco is to port the PS1 Digimon World games to the PS3 and Vita's PSN library. Whether the petition fails or succeeds, the ultimate goal is to just get the Digimon franchise more exposure outside of Japan. I would love to be able to play the World series again on either the Vita or PS3 and I know there must be some who feel the same, but even if the petition fails at its original goal, hopefully it can at least help, even if only a little, in bringing more Digimon games worldwide.

Please don't sign the petition unless you are completely earnest in purchasing at least one of these games if they do get ported. Signatures from people who don't plan on actually buying them would only hurt the petition and the future of the Digimon franchise. I would rather see the petition fail due to a lack of signatures than succeed and have no one actually follow through on their part.
