Ban Puppies Being Sold at the Border

Ban Puppies Being Sold at the Border
The Issue
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
At the Tijuana border line in Mexico, hundreds of precious puppies are at auction at the hands of money hungry con- men. As tourists and travelers await to cross the border, adorable baby puppies are only a couple feet and hundred away from being your new best friend. Sadly, most of these puppies are suffering from several life threatening factors such as deadly viruses, forced early movement after birth, and untreated neglect trauma,
Due to the rapid breeding procedure that captors practice, this causes severe harm to both mother and offspring; additionally, lacking proper vaccines after birth leave the infant puppies prone to infections. The most common one is "Parvo", this illness is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs in their early stages of life. CPV is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces.
Almost 70 million homeless companion animals are struggling to survive in the U.S. and 22 million homeless dogs in Mexico. Help us advocate and bring awareness to this increasing issue. To enact change and preserve the life of our beloved pets, start by actively reporting street vendors or breeders to local Tijuana authorities of the illegal activity. By doing this, you can get these babies adopted by an actual family instead of being traded for as a commodity.
