The Issue

The people of the color guard don't appreciate the fact that band kids leave the "condensation" from their instruments on the band hall floor. The unethical practice of not drying up their spit is a hazard for not only the guard, but for other unsuspecting band kids as well.

The Dripping Springs Color Guard has the privilege of having their class period after both symphonic band and wind ensemble where there is a large number of people emptying their spit valves all over the floor who are not picking up after themselves. The slippery puddles scattered around the band room are very dangerous especially when the color guard has to dance, roll, and spin in the same room the band practices in. The puddles have caused countless falls and injuries as well as many of our flag silks and rifles drenched in saliva.

At the moment, the guard has no other choice but to clean up another person's saliva off the floor which is not only gross, but also time consuming because we have to be on the look out for any puddle that can potentially be a cause of an injury.

The Dripping Springs Color Guard politely asks the Dripping Springs Tiger Band students to clean up their spit puddles at the end of their class periods so the Tiger band hall can be safer and more sanitary.
