Throughout all of humanity, there have been disagreements. This will likely never change — but our reaction to them must. War is a human rights violation and disgusting.

War harms the environment. Everyday military activity could be responsible for around 5.5% of global emissions. If all the militaries in the world were listed as a country, they would be the 4th largest emitter. And that’s not even counting the direct impact of armed conflict. This could put the promises of the Paris Agreement at risk — because if military emissions are not tracked, they cannot be accounted for or properly addressed.

Studies have shown that generational trauma can be passed down, meaning that not only will the people directly affected by war be traumatized, but their children and future generations will be too. War constantly violates human rights and the geneva conventions, and there is never any consequence. 

The number of disgusting human rights violations that have happened and are happening is incomprehensible. So many of these have come from war and capitalism. But we cannot fight capitalism if we are fighting ourselves. We want more land, more territory, more power, more big companies and corporations, and we will destroy it all trying to get it. We have the power to end it all. 

Empathy, is not weakness. Empathy will not take away from you. Empathy is not something that you need to feel. Its something you need to know. Its logically knowing that everyone benefits from a peaceful world where we all have guaranteed safety.

International and national laws, war crimes, and human rights have been violated over and over again by war and by everything surrounding war. We cannot let this keep happening.

We as a society should have advanced past this by now. We have so much technology, knowledge, and capacity for empathy, for good change.

The Montreal Protocol proved that we can cooperate internationally. And we need to do it again — this time to end war permanently. Or at the very least, actually start punishing the governments and corporations that violate human rights.

The Montreal Protocol was made to save humanity, and so is this — to ensure we do not become our own downfall.

THE PLANET IS IN SEVERE DANGER AND SO IS LIFE ON EARTH. WE NEED TO STOP FIGHTING OVER NONSENSE AND DESTROYING EVERYTHING.
WE CANNOT SOLVE THESE ISSUES AND THE CAPITALISM THAT KILLS US, IF WE ARE TOO BUSY KILLING OURSELVES.
