This popular YouTuber, who encourages and glorifies online bullying through his content, has impacted many lives adversely, including my own. The adverse outcomes are not just anecdotal. According to a 2020 study published in the Journal of School Health, victims of online bullying are twice as likely to suffer from depression and contemplate suicide (Robert W. Faris, Ph.D., and Diane Felmlee, Ph.D., UC Davis).

Lieutenant Lickme's content fuels a dangerous trend, leveraging his influence over impressionable minds, Glenn G. Sparks, Ph.D., from Purdue University also affirms the significant influence YouTubers have on their audience, particularly the younger demographics. It's time for us to urge YouTube to reconsider its content policies and ban channels like Lt. Lickme, which promote harm and distress.
