Did you know that after glass bottles are produced, they are stacked on pallets and stretch wrapped. They are then loaded into trailers where approximately five to eleven air bags are used to stabilize the load? All of the above mentioned plastic wrap and airbags then get thrown away by their customers into the garbage! These customers are the nations breweries, wineries and food processing plants. This antiquated packaging process is directly affecting our environment due to tons of plastic being thrown in our land fills every day. The amount of plastic waste being created globally from glass plants alone is monumental, and adversely affecting our environment. Glass plants have been using this antiquated method for the last thirty years to secure and ship their product.

I am calling for immediate action due to the blatant disregard glass, metal and plastic single use container plants have for the environment.

All day long, these pallets get stretch wrapped and sent to customers, who then just throw the plastic away, pretty sad.
