Ban the Use of Rabbit Hutches for Housing Bunnies

Ban the Use of Rabbit Hutches for Housing Bunnies
The Issue
I am a proud owner of four bunnies, and the thought of confining them to a hutch is unimaginable. The so-called '3 hop rule' that some use as a guideline for cage size is simply ridiculous. Rabbits are active and social animals that require space to move freely and express their natural behaviors.
According to the House Rabbit Society, an internationally recognized rabbit rescue and education organization, rabbits need at least 12 square feet of housing space with an additional larger area (at least 32 square feet) for exercise daily. This requirement far exceeds what most hutches provide.
RWAF guidelines say 60 sq ft minimum, 24/7 so there is a lot difference in opinion, obviously. 🙄
i just think, NO HUTCH FULL STOP.
Rabbits confined in small spaces often suffer from physical ailments like obesity and skeletal deformities due to lack of movement. They also experience psychological distress leading to abnormal behaviors such as over-grooming or aggression.
By signing this petition, you are standing against animal cruelty and advocating for better living conditions for rabbits everywhere. Let's work together towards legislation that bans rabbit hutches that do not meet minimum size requirements as outlined by animal welfare organizations. Please sign this petition today!
DONT put your rabbit in a hutch, put it in a HOME!! 🫶🏽
