Nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” has recently taken a dangerous turn with the introduction of GalaxyGas, a flavored version being sold in vape stores and gas stations. The colorful packaging and sweet flavors make it particularly appealing to younger generations, including teens. This product not only normalizes drug use but also poses serious risks to health and well-being.

We, the undersigned, call for an immediate ban on the sale of GalaxyGas in vape stores and gas stations.

Why This Matters:

Health Risks to Youth: Nitrous oxide, when inhaled recreationally, can cause severe short- and long-term health problems. These include neurological damage, addiction, and cognitive impairment. When flavored and marketed in an appealing way, it creates a pathway for youth to experiment with a harmful substance under the guise of it being "fun" or "safe."

Normalization of Drug Abuse: By allowing nitrous oxide to be sold alongside everyday items in vape stores and gas stations, we risk normalizing its abuse. GalaxyGas is glamorizing drug use through trendy packaging and flavors, making it seem harmless to young and impressionable consumers.

Legal Loophole: While nitrous oxide is legally used for medical and culinary purposes, products like GalaxyGas exploit legal loopholes and undermine public health efforts to curb drug abuse. This product is often sold without sufficient regulation, making it easily accessible to minors.

What We Demand:
We urge lawmakers and regulators to immediately:
