I call on the government to introduce a blanket ban on the sale of E-Scooters in the UK.

These scooters are already illegal to use on public roads yet myself and others witness their use on a daily basis which leads the public to believe they are safe and legal to use so more are purchased.

Some of these scooters can reach in excess of 70Mph, they have already caused multiple deaths, countless injuries many of which likely go unreported. They are often used with no safety gear either and I have witnessed adults with children on board doing 30+ Mph without a helmet on either of them which is a tragedy waiting to happen. 

They are also linked to countless fires due to their lithium batteries which has also claimed lives.

How many more lives need to be lost to these vehicles before the government take it more seriously?

Even if a ban is not introduced then the government need to act quickly to introduce new laws and regulations that will allow them to be operated on our roads more safely. 

Please government officials do something.
