As a cat lover, it is heart-wrenching to witness the suffering of cats deprived of their claws. People I know and love are unknowingly causing their feline friends immeasurable pain by choosing to declaw them. Felines deserve to function properly and live without pain. Declawing is not simply a manicure for cats, it's equivalent to cutting off a human's fingers at the first knuckle. Aside from the immediate pain of surgery, this procedure also leaves cats with lasting physical and psychological trauma. The Humane Society of United States corroborates that declawed cats are likely to become more aggressive and may have issues using the litter box.
