The Issue

I have lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember. Despite trying numerous treatments, nothing truly alleviated it. The dawn of my relief came unexpectedly when I discovered that I, like an alarming 40% of the population, have a mutation in the MTHFR gene (specifically, I have a double mutation, c677t). This mutation impairs our ability to process synthetic folic acid, which is commonly added to processed foods after nutrient-rich elements like bran and germ have been stripped.

Immediately, I cut out any foods containing synthetic folic acid from my diet. Noticeable changes began in just a month - my anxiety started fading and, after just two months, was practically non-existent. My son, who suffered from severe sensory issues along with hefty anxiety, experienced similar relief.

Evidently, this is not just personal. It is an issue that could be unknowingly affecting a large percentage of our population, potentially leading to not only anxiety symptoms, such as those that I had, but it may cause other health issues as well. What is unsettling, is that many aren't even aware of their genetic mutation, nor the potential detrimental impact of synthetic food enrichments in their diet. Yet, they are likely eating these foods, and have no idea that it is contributing to problems with their mental and/or physical health.

Our mission, therefore, is simple. We want to petition RFK Jr. to work toward removing synthetic folic acid from our processed foods, in order to safeguard our health, reduce anxiety, and improve life quality. And this mission starts with you. Lend your support, sign this petition, and take a stand against harmful synthetic enrichments, such as folic acid, from being added to our processed foods.
