Ban Student from Walking at Graduation Due to Human Rights Violations

The Issue

Myself and students at Westmont High School have been negatively affected by the words and actions of [Redacted]. This individual has committed multiple discriminatory and racial remarks and slurs, and engaged in actions that have harmed our community. Allowing this student to walk across the stage at graduation would be an injustice to those who have suffered due to their behavior. We urge the school administration to take a stand against such conduct by banning this student from walking in the graduation ceremony. Below are testimony’s from students from Westmont High School who have been negatively affected by [Redacted].

”He verbally called death upon my people and even posted it on his story. He proceeded by stating that calling for a liberated Palestine defines you as a Nazi, and Palestinians and pro-Palestinians deserve to be killed.” - N.A.

”He has said racist and homophobic words to me and has made me feel uncomfortable at school.” - L.A.

“[Redacted] has used multiple slurs and discriminatory language against me online and in person for the past 3 years. These slurs retained to being called the F slur, R slur, wishing death on certain ethnic groups and religions, and constantly speaking about weapons and actions retaining to mass violence. [Redacted] is the type of person that many of our cultural organizations on campus need to have the security for because of his threats of violence. I have also personally witnessed him getting physical with students, wrestling items out of others hands, and standing over others to look threatening.” - anonymous

”He is in one of my classes and constantly interrupts to talk about guns and violence. He has mentioned planning on abusing his  future children multiple times. Additionally, he continuously talks about supporting nazis, and continuously uses derogatory terms for middle eastern people. Every time this happens, it makes the whole class uncomfortable, as he nonstop talks about guns and violence.” - anonymous
