Ban Sparx Maths from every school in the UK
The Issue
As a Sparx Maths user, I have very strong and negative opinions about this website and I believe that almost every student in the UK shares this with me. To many adults and teachers, this website may seem as an innocent and useful way to learn maths. However, in the student's perspective, it is a stressful and extremley hard way of learning the most simplest things. Many people have talked about the negtive effects this website has on their mental health. Many people are frustrated with this webdite because it asks you to record a 'Bookwork Check', which is where a question pops up randomly, asking you what the answer was to a question you did about 15 minutes ago. This may seem like a nice and innocent way of making students engage in their maths learning, but the issue is that if you get the Bookwork Check wrong twice, it forces you to start all.of the questions again. It also changes the questions so that you can't re-enter your answers from before. Many students (including me) believe this feature is unnecessary and can cause unneeded stress and anxiety, especially if you don't have long to do it. This takes a huge toll on student's mental health as it feels like the website is degrading us. If you don't believe me, take a quick look at the reviews on Trustpilot.
