For many parents like me, our children's changing behavior due to the 'Skibidi Toilet Challenge' phenomenon has become a significant concern. Our young ones are increasingly developing an addiction toward this trend, often leading to disrespectful interactions with elders in the family.

Social media challenges are not new. However, the popularity and addictive nature of the Skibidi Toilet Challenge are especially worrying. The challenge promotes an unusual dance routine while using the toilet, degrading the maturity and respect we try to instill in our children.

Many studies have confirmed that website content significantly influences children's behavior and thought processes (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2016). Moreover, it's not only their respect toward others or their moral compass that's at stake. Leaning towards digital addiction at such an early age could potentially affect their mental health as well, leading to issues like decreased focus, increased anxiety, sleep disorders, and more (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2020).

We need to counteract this phenomenon by creating awareness about its possible consequences and by encouraging more constructive online trends. We urge management at social media platforms to monitor and restrict content that influences underage users negatively.
