The Issue

Our children deserve safety, privacy, and respect — not harassment and fear.

Recently, a man named Scott Heiner, who has no children in the Sedro-Woolley School District, has repeatedly posted photos of locals ( including minors) online without consent and made false accusations against them. He called a child a furry for wearing cat ears during Halloween season and posted her online referring to her as a “furry in the wild.” He has used those images to spread political misinformation and encourage others to ridicule children.

Heiner has also made disturbing public comments about “identifying as transgender” to enter girls’ restrooms and even asking where that specific child went to school. That behavior that is completely inappropriate and unsafe around schools.

This is not “activism.” It’s harassment and intimidation. This man has ZERO kids in the school district and spreads fear on situations that are not even happening.

We are asking the Sedro-Woolley School Board to take immediate action to:

  1. Ban Scott Heiner from district properties and events for harassment and unsafe conduct.
  2. Publicly condemn the posting of minors’ photos online for political or ideological purposes.
  3. Review school volunteer and visitor policies to prevent individuals like this from using “community involvement” as a cover for spreading hate.

Our schools should be places where children can learn and grow, not where adults turn them into political targets.
