We live in a world where kids are required to adhere to a dress code which in some cases is a school uniform. This needs to be changed. We need to allow a society in which people should be able to express themselves however they like. The common argument I here is what about those kids who are in poverty or in the lower class if their wearing the same time than know one should judge them. 

However in those extreme cases why should that money go towards school uniforms in which it could instead go towards making dinner or getting it placed in the college fund in which those kids have a brighter future. In America we crave for originality and one of the things that make us, us is how we dress. 

It just doesn’t make sense as to why we should stunt creativity like that. Another argument I hear is that if we get rid of uniforms and dress code girls would wear skirts that are too short and that boys would look. That just simply isn’t the case and people who think that are sexiest in that line of thinking because girls are just as likely to wear a baggy hoodie as they are to wear a skirt.

Another aspect of this is the LGBTQ+ side of it. This allows those who identify with being a male or female or not a gender at all be able to express that and not be forced to wear uniforms that restrict that. For those reading who are against the LBTQ+ community you can still wear whatever you please. 

There are so many aspects to this that many schools fail to see such as the fact of comfortability as the clothes that you wear on a regular basis your used to the fabric and have comfortability yet in school uniforms that’s not always the case and if your constantly fixing your uniform because it’s uncomfortable do you really think that you’ll do well on a test if your distracted by your uniform?

 People need to understand that this will have a much more positive impact on students than you’ll realize. So I urge everyone to please sign so that we can finally end this age old debate of should school uniforms be banned as we know the right answer.
