Protect New Yorkers: Ban the Sale of Kratom and 7-OH Products in New York

I am calling on New York State lawmakers to ban the sale of kratom and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products in New York.

These products are being sold to the public with insufficient safeguards, while many people may not understand their potential for dependence and serious harm. 7-OH products are particularly concerning because they can contain concentrated levels of a potent kratom-derived compound.

New Yorkers should not have to encounter these products at convenience stores, smoke shops, gas stations, or online without stronger protections.

I urge Governor Hochul and the New York State Legislature to take immediate action to prohibit the sale of kratom and 7-OH products in New York and protect families and communities from the devastating consequences these products can cause.
