Why this petition matters

Single use plastic is polluting the earth and packaged Mineral Water bottles add a significant amount to it. It's very heartbreaking to see these empty bottles lying everywhere in the mountains.

While doing a cleaning drive with Healing Himalayas in Himachal, I have realised that these water bottles add a huge amount to the garbage. If they can be banned in the state then the plastic garbage can be reduced to a huge extent.

Sikkim had already banned Packaged Mineral Water. I also want to request Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh government to follow the lead & do the same.

The Sikkim Chief Minister, PS Tamang, said during ban “blessed with natural resources that provide fresh and good quality drinking water.” The same applies to HP, UK, Ladakh as well. There is more fresh water available throughout the state than the amount stored in packaged plastic bottles for months/years.

So, I am requesting

Mr. Jairam Thakur, hon'ble Chief Minister of Himachal  Pradesh

Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand

Mr. Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Ladakh

Mr. Radha Krishna Mathur, Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Ladakh

to initiate & implement the ban & save Himalayas from this plastic pollution.
