Open burning is when garbage, treated wood, metal, etc. is burned in a barrel, pit, or other outdoor or indoor setting. Although people have done it for ages, we now know that open burning has many health concerns connected to the action. Also, when open burning, tons upon tons of dangerous gases are released into the air (nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, volatile organic chemicals and polycyclic organic matter) and affect the environment. So, join me and fight for both us and the environment. Open burning does not get rid of plastic rather it becomes smaller (which then affects the water we drink, food we eat, and the air we breathe). This negatively affects us in more ways than we can count!
