We are petitioning against Hannah Hiatt (@hannah_bhiatt), a TikTok user who has reportedly been neglecting and abusing her children. Everyone has the right to use social media, but it becomes a concern when the platform is used irresponsibly and detrimentally, especially when it involves the wellbeing of children. Studies have affirmed that every year, millions of children fall prey to neglect and abuse worldwide (source: World Health Organization). There are allegations that Hannah (@hannah_bhiatt) and her husband are some of these abusers. We feel that the actions allegedly perpetrated by Hannah are not only heinous but also contravene TikTok's Community Guidelines of promoting a safe and positive environment. Social platforms should never be used as a shield for unjust activities nor provide a stage for those who commit such acts. Therefore, we call for immediate action to ban Hannah (@hannah_bhiatt) from TikTok to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of her children and send a clear message that child neglect and abuse is unacceptable.
