I never used to dread game nights, until Meredith joined our Scrabble group. I began noticing that her performance was unusual. She would always win, and by no small margin. This consistent victory is beginning to feel unfair to the rest of us who just want to enjoy a friendly competition. Comparatively, research shows that winning a Scrabble game typically involves a balance of skill and luck. Yet, in Meredith's case, the scales seem heavily tipped towards skill, with her clutching the winner's position each time (Source: Tile and Trouble: The Dynamics of Scrabble, Neil J. A. Sloane, 2018). This has started to significantly impact the overall enjoyment and fairness of our games. Therefore, we ask for an intervention — for Meredith to be banned from participating in future competitions in order to restore the balance and spirit of fair play.
