Ban Lucy_Lola20 and MumandMiley from the Internet
The Issue
Note: This is not intended as a personal attack, but a call for accountability and child protection online.
If you’ve used Social Media (Mainly TikTok or Instagram) recently, you may have seen videos from 2 British content creators - @Lucy_Lola20 and @MumandMiley. These accounts regularly post content showing their young daughters in distress—crying, being punished, or acting out—captured on camera and shared with a global audience.
While these may be presented as skits or parenting content, the emotional tone, frequency, and framing strongly suggest that the goal is viral engagement, not education or entertainment. Worse, these videos often provoke thousands of harsh, misdirected comments aimed at the children themselves.
This is a disturbing trend. Children should not be used as tools for online fame or income. Whether staged or not, this kind of content can have real consequences on a child’s mental health and wellbeing—and it sets a dangerous precedent for what’s acceptable online.
But that's not the worst part, not only are these content creators producing these staged videos but they're also getting it promoted everywhere on the Internet and social media thanks to the help of companies like IGV, Komi Group, Bluntly and Brave Bison getting it shoved out there on the algorithms.
It's just a shame that skit content and staged videos are the norm now and it's just becoming ridiculous, and that brings us to the question: what can we do about it?
We urge platforms like TikTok and Instagram to:
- Investigate content that consistently features children in distress or conflict situations for entertainment.
- Enforce stricter guidelines around monetization of content involving minors.
- Consider permanent bans for repeat offenders exploiting children for clout.
Childhood should be protected, not performed. Please sign this petition to stand against the exploitation of children on social media and push for more ethical digital content practices.
