My name is Ruby Cogan. I am 10 years old. Today, the global population is 7 billion, and we are heading towards 10 billion in my lifetime. The experts say this will create huge problems with food, water, and pollution.

World leaders should meet and agree that our Earth cannot sustain a global population of more than 10 billion and develop policies to ensure a sustainable population.

I learnt about this issue doing my Year 5 assignment which was a documentary on the Australian businessman Dick Smith. I interviewed him and watched his documentary many times.  My video started with his life story of his businesses and adventures but then I learnt about something much more important. The ever increasing world population.
