Khalistan is a violent terrorist organization banned in India. Established in the 1940s, the separatist Sikh supremacist movement has been responsible for the deaths of over fifty thousand people. Some politicians continue to appease these violent elements for electoral gains. Khalistani extremists were behind the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history, the Air India bombing, which claimed the lives of around 300 Canadian citizens. These groups have carried their conflict from India and have been involved in violence against peaceful Hindu Canadians. Canadians should not have to suffer because of a Sikh separatist movement seeking land in India. It is crucial to consider banning Khalistan as soon as possible to safeguard the lives of innocent Canadians.
