IXl is a large learning platform for students, dedicated to making the best learning for all kids in the nation. Many students however have very mixed feelings about IXL. Many students often get annoyed at the program.

This is not because it is homework, there's no problem with that, but it is because how the site operates itself. 

No doubt, IXL is good for learning from a teachers perspective, as they can see in detail what their students are struggling with and such, however from the students perspective IXl seems like torture.

Let me bring you back to the point that there is no problem in the fact that it is  homework, but the problem is in the fact of how the site operates.

On every lesson, there is a "smart score" the score used for telling students what mastery level you get.

IXL itself does not teach very well, and so when you get a question wrong, it drops your smart score by almost 4x what it increases it when you get a question right. This fact is very annoying when you've been on it for hours, and if you miss one question after 60 smart score, it may take you over 5 questions to get back.

The videos powered by Wyzant, sometimes dont talk about the specific topic, or just are not helpful. 

The smart score operates dumbly.

If you read most of the students reviews, they are terrible. IXL just gives stress. I dont XL.
