Today the ICJ said..(basically, this is my own very personal interpretation)
-There is an ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and we acknowledge it. Israel has to commit to feeding, make efforts to give the people left humane conditions, water and healthcare.... But no CEASEFIRE?
You provide food and water but keep on bombing? I KNOW this is a Very simplified interpretation from me, but this is what I hear and see.
It´s a win, on paper, sure, but also a slap on the wrist on someone (Israel) whom most likely wont honour anything said in court (by the ICJ). Because Israel has stated all the time that they already are providing the necessities (witch is a lie) for Palestinians in Gaza.
It´s as if you would be a parent to a serial killer (Israel), you (the ICJ)know about his actions, condemn them, but still feed, house and keep them safe.
Its a very sick and sad world.
I was really hoping to be able to send an update containing good news about a ceasefire and that there would be a way back for Palestinians to try to recover and regroup, rebuild and finally get food, water, medicine and PEACE, but not today, sorry.
The only good thing from me today is that there is a growing movement within Scandinavia and Europe and the world as well, to boycott Eurovision Song Contest, latest is that Romania will withdraw their participation, they decided it costs to much to be a continued part in the ESC 2024! And well, the cost of competing probably includes all the extra security Israel is gonna add to every country joining.
I´m still wanting a complete ban of Israels participation thou and wont stop wishing and fighting either.
More news like this please. Keep pushing to inform your local news, broadcasting services and create opinion for a total ban of Israels participation in the finale in Malmoe.
We as humans, that has the privilege of living safe and having medicine, water, warm beds, food to eat and children in one piece to tuck in a soft bed at night owe this to the Palestinian population locked inside a hell...
Keep sharing, supporting and donating, and sorry for not being more positive, but today was a hard day.
Respectfully/Lotta
