The Issue

I am writing this petition because I am fed up with iReady. As a student who has spent countless hours on this platform, I can firmly say that I hate it. The repetitive and monotonous nature of iReady assignments not only frustrates me but also my peers. We find ourselves spending time on these tasks that could be better used for learning in a more engaging and effective way.

Many of us believe that iReady's method of teaching is not conducive to actual learning. The lessons often feel disconnected from what we are taught in class and do not cater to our individual learning styles. This isn't just my perspective; countless students have reported similar feelings of dissatisfaction and frustration. In fact, studies have shown that many students benefit more from hands-on and interactive learning experiences rather than computer-based instruction like iReady.

Additionally, the excessive amount of time spent on iReady assignments often eats into time that could be used for physical activity, extracurricular activities, or even family time. We believe that education should inspire and excite students, not burden them with obligatory tasks that do not resonate with their learning pace or understanding.

I urge school administrators, educators, and policymakers to reconsider the use of iReady in our schools. There are alternative educational tools and methods that better serve the diverse needs of students. Programs that incorporate interactive, personalized, and engaging content have proven more successful in fostering a love for learning.

Join me in advocating for our right to a more enriching educational experience. Let’s push for an academic system that prioritizes student understanding and well-being over rote and uninspired digital tasks.

Please sign this petition to help ban iReady from our educational system.
