Ban Illegal Dog Breeders and Save Abandoned Dogs in India

The Issue

Every day, helpless dogs suffer silently due to the greed of illegal breeders and the ignorance of uninformed pet buyers. It's time we take a stand.

Across India, shelters are overflowing with abandoned foreign breeds—Labradors, Huskies, Saint Bernards, Pugs, and more—each one a heartbreaking example of a broken system. These dogs are often bred in inhumane, unhygienic conditions, sold without any health checks, and bought by people unaware of their needs. As a result, these poor souls are discarded like commodities once the “cuteness” fades or the responsibilities become too much.

This cruelty starts with illegal and unethical breeding practices and ends in neglect, abandonment, and suffering.

We, the undersigned, demand:

A complete ban on illegal dog breeders and puppy mills operating without proper licenses and welfare protocols.
Strict enforcement of pet breeding and sale regulations under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Mandatory awareness campaigns about adopting over buying, especially foreign breeds that are ill-suited to Indian climates.
Promotion of adoption from shelters and recognized NGOs instead of purchasing pets.
Regular audits and inspections of breeding facilities by animal welfare authorities.
India cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the suffering of these voiceless beings. We urge you to act now—to protect our animals, regulate unethical breeding, and build a more compassionate society.
