Ban I-Ready!

The Issue

This petition stems from the very personal experience of dealing with the overuse of the I-ready software. Every day, we students are required to use this program, consuming so much of our precious time. We believe this constant reliance on I-ready is draining and counterproductive to our learning process.

I-ready is a digital platform meant to enhance our learning experiences but, ironically, it has become a source of fatigue, and we have reached a point of saturation. We are students who desire a diverse learning experience beyond the confines of a software program.

Statistics indicate that online schooling has significantly increased the screen time of learners (Source: Study by the National Institute of Health). Digital education tools, like I-ready, contribute significantly to this increase. Experts have also raised concerns about the unhealthy amounts of time children are spending on digital platforms.

Reducing our daily use of I-ready can help mitigate these concerns. We propose a reasonable plan to use I-ready in moderation, limiting its use to three times a week, and incorporating more interactive and off-screen modes of learning.

Join us in striving for a healthy balance in our learning process. Let's maximize our potential, diversify our learning, and make education enjoyable again. Sign this petition today and support us in our quest to abolish the daily use of I-ready in our schools.
