I run a playgroup and have seen firsthand the potential dangers of having hot drinks around young children. In early years settings, accidents can happen quickly, and a spilled hot drink can cause severe burns to a child’s delicate skin. According to the Child Accident Prevention Trust, over 30% of all scald injuries in children are caused by hot drinks so it makes no sense that these are so happily provided by the playgroups themselves as part of the attraction to gain custom. Playgroups are for the children, For their enjoyment,Development and social skills and whilst we understand that parents also engage within these settings importance must be based upon the child and their safety is paramount, I'm sure people can do without coffee for an hour just to ensure the safety if their child whilst in the premise.

To ensure the safety of our little ones, we must ban the provision of hot drinks being provided within early years playgroups. Please sign this petition to protect our children from unnecessary harm.
