BAN GAME HUNTING IN AFRICA

The Issue

I am an African, intrinsically connected to the awe-inspiring biodiversity of this magnificent continent. Seeing our unique wildlife within their natural habitat fills me with a sense of indescribable pride and joy. However, these animals who are part of our heritage, are facing severe threats due to game hunting. Each year, thousands of these iconic species are killed for sport by Europeans, disrupting delicate ecosystems and pushing already endangered species to the brink of extinction.

Data from the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) indicates that some 600,000 hunting trophies were exported across borders worldwide in a single decade, from Africa alone. This rampant hunting not only poses a threat to our wildlife, it could also undermine the tourism industry, which is a major contributor to Africa's GDP.

I firmly believe that our wildlife is not a commodity, but assets which we should cherish and protect. Let's shift our focus towards sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation strategies, which not only bolster our economies but also ensure the survival of our beloved animals.

Let's make a stand for our wildlife. Help enforce stronger laws and regulations against game hunting in Africa by signing this petition. Let's protect our heritage!
