Ban Fireworks at Mount Rushmore on July 4th

Ban Fireworks at Mount Rushmore on July 4th
The Issue
We’ve had one of the driest winters on record. Spring is not looking good either. We have had multiple fires and the season has not even begun. Lake Pactola is below the “Concern Level” according to local government. Why would we risk this?
Our community is currently navigating a period of extreme drought, characterized by record-low humidity, depleted soil moisture, and an abundance of "fine fuels" (dried grasses and vegetation). Under these volatile conditions, fireworks pose an unacceptable risk of catastrophic wildfire.
During drought or dry seasons, vegetation reaches a "critical fuel moisture" level where even a single spark can trigger a fast-moving wildfire. Fireworks, by design, involve falling incendiary sparks that are difficult to contain.
Why not do a Laser Display or a Drone Show?
