The Issue

As a fan, I was ecstatic to purchase Level 3 nosebleeds tickets for a concert, originally advertised for $100. To my dismay, I was later asked to pay a whopping $500 instead. This flagrant upcharge was due to a practice called dynamic pricing, where the cost of items fluctuates depending on the demand and other market factors.

In Australia, dynamic pricing has started to invade the concert industry with devastating impact on consumers. As reported by The Guardian, consumers are being hit hard with rising prices; often several times more than the original advertised price. This exploitative business model has not only made concerts inaccessible for many music lovers, but also fuels resentment and discourages the cultural growth of our society.

The practice of dynamic pricing for concerts should be illegal in Australia. It's predatory, taking advantage of the fans who save and spend responsibly only to find that prices are unexpectedly inflated. It is time for our lawmakers to intervene and ban dynamic pricing for concerts, ensuring fair access to culture and entertainment for every Australian.

Join us in requesting the Australian government to put an end to this unjustifiable practice of dynamic pricing for concerts. Please sign this petition today. Let's make music accessible and enjoyable for all!
