Cold calling is an invasive and un necessary practice. Legitimate business can advertise and look for customers in many ways. Including social media which is free. My main concern is that cold calling is sometimes a scam. People especially the elderly and vulnerable can be targeted and intimidated by cold callers at their homes. They may be put under excess pressure as well as knowing the the caller knows where they live. They may feel threatened because who knows what the caller might do to them or their property. Also it is a high pressure technique that may cause people to make bad decisions. I feel a blanket ban is a good idea because if it is illegal. When people or a company do try it in any area the police will be called hopefully by several people in the area, which should end it. I think it's time to stop this high pressure, sometimes criminal  technique. Especially for those who cannot defend themselves or who may be mentally vulnerable to this sort of pressure and possible intimidation
