Perdue Chicken- Petaluma Farms

In one barn at a Petaluma Poultry factory farm in Santa Rosa, more than 10% of the chickens died by the time they reached 5 weeks. That is more than double the accepted industry mortality rate.

Campylobacter, Clostridium perfringens, Avian Coronavirus, Salmonella, Marek's Disease, Infectious Bursal Disease, and Enterococcus have been found at Petaluma Poultry's facilities.

During an investigation at Perdue's Petaluma Poultry Slaughterhouse, evidence was found of "cadaver" chickens. "Cadaver" is an industry term for chickens who have turned bright red after being boiled alive, typically due to negligence or high slaughter speeds.

In 2018, Sonoma County's Animal Services referred a Petaluma Poultry factory farm to the Sheriff's Office as a suspect in an animal cruelty case. Unfortunately, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office failed to pursue the case, instead leaving the chickens to suffer.

Our investigations found abnormally high rates of disease and bacteria on Perdue facilities. Chickens are routinely left to slowly die of injuries and illness.

Evidence was also uncovered showing chickens were being boiled alive at their Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse, which provides chicken bodies for their Rocky and Rosie brands.

You and your loved ones deserve to shop at the grocery store without the risk of buying diseased food. Boycott Perdue Farms, who prosecuted their most infamous whistle blower with felony charges, as they walk free and continue to sell you diseased food.
