Chipotle, please eliminate the use of seed oils from your kitchen. 

Chipotle has been the one place I could always come to for an affordable healthy meal. So many people rely on Chipotle for their post workout fuel. 

It’s come to my attention from Carnivore MD on instagram, that chipotle uses seed oils to cook the protein and put into other products.  

Eating the right types of fat is so important for a healthy diet. Seed oils like rapeseed slow our metabolism and are unhealthy for humans.

Some examples of why seed oils are so toxic:

1) In the 1940s, farmers attempted to use coconut oil (a saturated fat) to fatten their animals but they found it only made them lean, active, and hungry. Farmers soon found that seed oils and corn lowered the animals metabolic rate allowing it to gain weight faster.

2) Bears and squirrels hibernate in the winter. They do this by eating lots of nuts, seeds, and berries before hibernation. These nuts and seeds, with their high polyunsaturated fat levels, allow the metabolic rate of these animals to slow, allowing them to sleep through the cold months of the year. Researchers have found that bears and squirels given coconut oil (saturated fat) and the right carbohydrates, were unable to hibernate, since the animals had an increased metabolic rate and energy level.  

3) By 1950, it was established that polyunsaturated fatty acid suppress the metabolic rate and apparently cause hypothyroidism. Researchers found that these fats damage the mitochondria of cells, suppressing respiratory enzymes, and promote excessive oxidative damage in the body.

So while dieters and people trying to be healthy come to Chipotle with the hopes of consuming a healthy meal, they are being fed seed oils, which are problematic for humans, causing a multitude of health problems.

Chipotle, please eliminate the use of seed oils from your kitchen.

*Instead, please use butter, ghee, coconut oil, avocado oil, or olive oil for your fats!

America will thank you for taking this costly step as the innovative and iconic brand you are and continue to be.
