Ban Cheat-Promoting Content: Protect the Gaming Ecosystem from Unfair Play

The Issue

stop cheating content on youtube

To: YouTube Management / Google Inc. Policy Team
We, the undersigned members of the global gaming community, are calling on YouTube to take immediate and decisive action against channels that promote, demonstrate, and distribute cheating software (hacks) for online multiplayer games.
The Context: A Breaking Point
The current state of online gaming is in a crisis. Major developers, most notably Valve, have struggled to maintain fair play, with their anti-cheat systems (like VAC) often proving ineffective against the tidal wave of new exploits. This failure has left players vulnerable and frustrated.
Since game developers are currently unable to win this battle alone, it is imperative that platforms like YouTube stop providing a megaphone for cheaters. Currently, YouTube is the primary hub for:
Showcasing "rage hacking" to humiliate honest players.
Tutorials on how to install wallhacks, aimbots, and scripts.
Direct links to marketplaces selling illicit software.

Our Demand:
We urge YouTube to update its "Harmful or Dangerous Content" policy to explicitly include the promotion of video game cheats. We demand:
Strict Enforcement: Terminating channels that primary exist to showcase or distribute cheats.
Link Blacklisting: Removing and blocking external links to known "cheat provider" websites in video descriptions and comments.
Algorithmic Responsibility: Ensuring that the "Up Next" and "Search" algorithms do not promote cheating tutorials to legitimate players.
YouTube has the power to cut off the oxygen to the cheating industry. If developers like Valve cannot stop the software, YouTube must at least stop the promotion that normalizes this toxic behavior.
Help us save the games we love. Sign this petition to demand a cleaner, fairer YouTube.
