The Rouge Park is an urban treasure, the largest urban park in Michigan. Detroit’ers enjoying their time in Rouge Park shouldn’t be interrupted by Police Gunfire, teargas or bomb detonation.

You can hear gunshots 1 mile to 2 miles away. The entire park is within the audible range of 1.2 miles away from the Rouge Park Police Pistol Range.

The site called the ‘Detroit Police Pistol Range’ “includes an indoor gun range, archery range, and a detonation site to dispose of potentially dangerous devices found throughout the city, including bombs and fireworks.”

Right now, the city General Services Department is working with Friends of Rouge Park to develop the future plans for Rouge Park. We demand  future free of police bombs, bullets and tear gas!!
