Ban Brookfield and Carney from public projects

Ban Brookfield and Carney from public projects
The Issue
If any of us Canadians faced potential conflicts of interest at work, we would likely be expected to step aside. Many Canadians feel uneasy when individuals with close ties to both government and private corporations may appear to benefit from publicly funded projects. For this reason, it is important to review the roles that Mr. Carney and Brookfield may play in Canada’s public projects.
This petition calls for any entity directly connected to Mr. Carney or Brookfield that may be involved in shaping or awarding public projects to be excluded from receiving publicly funded requests for proposals during the period of their involvement. This narrower safeguard focuses specifically on areas where there is a reasonable concern about overlap between public decision-making and private gain.
The concern is that even the perception of conflicts of interest can erode public trust. Canadians deserve transparency and confidence that public projects are awarded based on merit and the best interests of the country.
Accountability matters. For this reason, we believe it would be responsible for Mr. Carney to step down from roles that create or appear to create conflicts with publicly funded initiatives. Canadians should know their tax dollars are being managed fairly and without bias.
Join us in calling for stronger safeguards, transparency, and oversight in how public projects are awarded. Let’s ensure taxpayer resources are allocated openly and in the best interests of all Canadians.
