The Issue

Parents of Jamea Harris, who was killed on Jan. 15, said Alabama coach Nate Oats had been "godawful" in handling the situation involving Brandon Miller. (Quote from USA magazine). "In a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Tuscaloosa, police testified that Miller brought the gun used in the Jan. 15 killing of Jamea Jonae Harris, which led to capital murder charges against then-teammate Darius Miles and Michael “Buzz” Davis. Miller has not been charged."

The family has to deal with the fact that someone talented in a sport gets a slap on the wrist and goes on playing for the team. The gun caused the death of a daughter's family and her 5-year-old son being left without a mother.

It is appalling that the university would continue to let Brandon Miller play, considering the facts and testimony of an officer in court made public on Tuesday. Stand up and demand justice for this family! If he won't punished criminally, he deserves to lose the privilege of playing basketball for the school.
