The Issue

I am an employee at Child Protective Services. Every day, I witness the damaging impact social media inflicts on children—particularly, inciting child-on-child sexual abuse and the distribution of child pornography. One particular platform that greatly concerns me is Brand Army, a fan monetization and community platform that disturbingly allows minors to connect with adult audiences. This platform offers exclusive content and makes it easy for minors to earn income through various monetization features, which potentially, and worryingly, legitimizes the acquisition of explicit content by predators. According to studies, about 15% of minors have received unwanted sexual solicitation via the internet and 4% have been asked to send explicit images, contributing to child exploitation (Source: Crimes Against Children Research Center). The time to act is now. We must protect our children against such exploitative platforms that put them at risk. Join us in urging authorities to ban Brand Army, thereby curbing a major source of online threats towards minors. By signing this petition, we can take a step towards safeguarding the innocence and well-being of our young generation.
