🚜 Why Are Backhoes Extremely Dangerous?
❌ Too Slow & Unsuitable for Highways
Backhoes move at around 60km/h or even slower. On highways, other vehicles like cars and motorcycles travel at 110km/h or more. This huge speed difference forces drivers to brake suddenly or swerve drastically, leading to potential fatal accidents.
❌ Large, Hard to See & Hard to Avoid
Backhoes are not like trucks or buses that have clear warning lights and high-reflectivity markers. Sometimes, they move without proper lighting or signals, especially during early mornings or evenings. This makes them difficult for other drivers to notice until it's too late.
❌ Disrupts Traffic Flow & Creates Dangerous Situations
On highways, traffic moves in a fast and organized flow. The presence of a backhoe slows down traffic, causes congestion, and puts other vehicles—especially motorcycles and smaller cars—at serious risk.
❌ Motorcyclists Are at Even Greater Risk!
If you ride a motorcycle, you know that motorcycle lanes are often closed due to construction and other reasons. When this happens, riders are forced to merge into the main highway lanes, increasing the risk of colliding with a slow-moving backhoe. This is an accident waiting to happen—and it could be fatal!
💔 A TRAGEDY THAT ALREADY HAPPENED: AMIR AIZAT LOST HIS LIFE
July 3, 2024—a tragedy struck on the KESAS Highway. Amir Aizat, just 26 years old, lost his life simply because a backhoe was on the highway.
Like you and me, Amir was just trying to earn a living. But his life was taken not because of his own mistake, but because of a failure to regulate dangerous vehicles like backhoes on highways.
