Ban animal testing in our state
Ban animal testing in our state
The Issue

When most people think of dogs, they think of family.
I do too. I’ve experienced firsthand how deeply dogs love, trust, and change our lives.
I had a pit bull named Dezel. He wasn’t just a dog—he was proof that the stereotypes about pit bulls are wrong. He was gentle, loyal, and loving. He helped change the way people around me saw his breed. He showed me that dogs deserve understanding, compassion, and protection—not fear, and definitely not harm.
Now I have two dogs, Odell and Peabody. They are my world. They are happy, trusting, and full of life. When I look at them, I can’t help but think about the dogs who will never get to experience what they have.
Dogs are still used in laboratory testing. Many spend their entire lives in cages, never feeling grass, never knowing love, never having a home. The most commonly used breed is the beagle—chosen for their gentle, trusting nature. They trust humans, and that trust is betrayed.
I care so much about ending animal testing because I know what dogs are. They are not tools. They are not test subjects. They are companions, protectors, and family.
What makes this even harder to accept is that many of these tests are no longer necessary. Science has advanced. There are humane, effective alternatives that do not require animals to suffer. Continuing this practice is not just outdated—it is cruel.
Dezel helped change the narrative about pit bulls. Now, with Odell and Peabody, I want to be part of changing the narrative about animal testing.
Dogs cannot speak for themselves. But we can.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for every dog who has been forgotten in a cage. You are helping create a future where no dog has to suffer for testing ever again.
They trust us. It’s time we protect them.
